Movin' On Up!

At 4:30, Riza left her ICU home for inpatient rehab at Mapleton Center.

Riza seems very excited (as am I). They had been talking for a few days that she might skip the step of a standard hospital room. L'Audace!

Riza will have three to four hours of scheduled rehab every day. Visitors can call the center at (303) 441-0458 to get her daily schedule and plan for visits in the breaks.

I think another couple of days in ICU would have been very difficult. Riza's trying to come out now. She told me that "I needed to be in ICU, but now I need to be here."

Maganda! Very exciting indeed. Mario is coming to visit today and will call for details on her schedule. I am putting together a "Riza Photo Book." I thought it would be a fun way to help with speech/phyisical skill building. The book holds 4"x6" photos, so visitors can add to it. I have some photos of Rivera/Manresa clan, but will need help with Kranz and friend photos. Thanks for the exciting update. You made my day!

Mario and I checked Riza's dance card, and we are coming up to see Riza in her new digs around 4 today. Can't wait to spend some time with her. I have a batch of cookies I can deliver to either facility. Just let me know where... as you know, this will help me to fulfill my cultural legacy. Women from Iowa always bake cookies in times of crisis, illness, celebration, well, just about anytime!

NED bless Iowa! Thanks to everybody who provided goodies for the staff at ICU. They are incredible people.

(I ran into Barb at Mapleton, and she was prepared with a batch for each facility -- super!)
